One of the most beautiful waterfalls I visited on my trip to Northern Georgia happened to also be the most difficult to photograph. Located above the Warwoman Dell parking lot in the Chattahoochee National Forest, a steep ½ mile accent on a well travelled trail leads you to a footbridge that crosses Becky Branch above the base of this beautiful 30 ft tall cascading waterfall. Named Becky Branch Falls, I couldn’t contain my excitement till I noticed I only had a handful of compositions available. Undeterred, I did my best to clean up the debris and I proceeded to rattle off several shots from the base of the falls as well as the footbridge. A few days later, after I had returned home, the photographs of this waterfall were one of the first I began to work on but I quickly learned something was wrong and it would take more than 10 minute edit to share it. So for the last few months I’ve been working on and off on different shots to see if I can finally bring this beautiful falls to light and last night I think I finally got it! This composition is from the base of the falls, the perspective gives the viewer no idea that they are looking at 30 foot tall waterfall. I think if I ever return here I hope there’s a about twice as much water on it as there was on this visit, I’m not sure if that would help with the challenges presented on my first trip, but it doesn’t hurt to find out!
