Skyview Arch Red River Gorge Geological Area Daniel Boone National Forest Powell County Kentucky I got the opportunity to finally visit an arch that has been on my list for a couple years now, Skyview Arch! Located in Kentucky's Red River Gorge, the arch had been forgotten for years, last known to be visited in the late 1970's. Rediscovered only a few years ago, people have been off trailing right past it for 40 years not having a clue it was right under their noses. As part of a group hike for the Natural Arch and Bridge Society lead by RRG expert Donnie Baird, we got to see Star Gap and Double Arch as well! All told, we hiked a total of 9.7 miles that day but there were only two times I pulled my camera out, once on Auxier Ridge to capture a Sundog and the other was here at Skyview. Good times with some great folks!

Suzanna Arch Cliffview Resort Campton Wolfe County Kentucky In April of 2018 I went on a camping trip to Kentucky's Red River Gorge with my long time friend Nathan Schertler. Though I had high hopes of visiting several arches as Nathan loves to hike and visit new places, we ended up taking it pretty easy and boozing it up a bit both Friday and Saturday night around the fire. Of all the arches I had planned to visit my top two were Suzanna Arch and Honeysuckle Bridge. I had been to Suzanna Arch several years ago and I remember it being a tough hike. Well, it was just as tough as I remembered probably because I'm so out of shape, but it was so worth it to return. On my first trip I didn't walk through the arch and shoot it from the other side, I wasn't about to miss that again. Over the years I've found most arches to be hard to shoot but this one is one of the most photogenic arches out there and amazingly from both sides!
