Double Falls Lower Drop Unnamed Stream Laurel Gorge Heritage Center Elliot County Kentucky At the time of this photo a very close personal friend told me that another photographer had told her "being a nature photographer was nothing", that it was "easy" and had "no respect for them." I was a bit surprised as obviously this person has obviously never walked in the woods and has spent far too much time behind their strobes. So how is this for easy, the many falls at Laural Gorge are for the most part isolated, although a short hike from the trail. They involved climbing over moss covered boulders, walking in slippery creek beds, walking along sheer drops, pushing through rhododendron tangle and climbing up a very muddy steep canyon side. Such as this falls, the lower falls of Twin Falls, the trek had all of these and to get an isolation shot of the upper falls well, it may be just a bit too scary but we'll see. One should never have anything negative to say about a landscape photographer, because sometimes, one false move and it could be your last shot.

Triple Falls UnNamed Stream Laurel Gorge Heritage Center Elliot County Kentucky This is Triple Falls. Here you see the lower and upper tier, what you can't see is a side falls to the right of the upper tier that is hidden by the rhododendrons. Overall the hike here is pretty easy and well worth visiting, unfortunately there's a lot of trash here that is washed downstream from the residences beyond the falls. Got some more to come over the next few days!
