Eagle Falls Eagle Creek Cumberland Falls State Park McCreary County Kentucky Although Cumberland Falls is a real beauty of a falls to see the much smaller Eagle Falls is well worth the very moderate 0.8 mile hike downstream. Sporting views of the Cumberland Gorge as well as the Cumberland Falls the trail has a several hundred foot up and down elevation change. When we got to this falls it was loaded with young adults lining both sides of the falls, a little odd to me, usually I have 2 or 3 people who won't get out of the shot in this case it was 25. So I ended up just sitting down with my friend Joey and soaking in this 35 foot falls. In hindsight I should have shot the falls with all the folks sitting around it, it probably would have made for an interesting composition.
Eagle Falls Eagle Creek Cumberland Falls State Park McCreary County Kentucky Perhaps the 2nd most beautiful Kentucky waterfall scene I’ve ever been lucky enough to lay eyes on, this was the heaviest flow I’ve ever seen on this falls, and I’ve never seen the splash pool so high. To top it off, where the water hit the rocks in the pool, it created one of the most unique sounds I’ve ever heard created by water, both indescribable and beautiful. I’ve hiked the moderate/strenuous ¾ mile several times now and I’ve never been disappointed. I’m just glad I was able to share this beautiful experience with my good friends Jason Haley, Randall Sanger, and Todd Williams.
Fairmount Falls Fairmount Falls Park Fairdale Jefferson County Kentucky In early November copious amounts of rain were dumped in Kentucky along the Ohio River and I couldn't resist doing some fall foliage waterfall chasing in greater Louisville! So my good friend Adam Thompson - The Serialphotog and myself met up with with our good friend Chris Morris at Fairmount Falls! Though the waterfall was again not what I expected it was still worth the visit! Peak colors were in full force and made for a gorgeous view of into this mini gorge!
