McCammon Falls McCammon Branch Daniel Boone National Forest Grey Hawk Jackson County Kentucky A waterfall that I have visited several times over the years is Flat Lick Falls in Jackson County, Kentucky. The first two times were fails. The first trip we arrived at sunset. The second there was too much water on the creek and crossing it would be impossible (this was before the trail to the base was put in). On one trip I briefly met good friend Adam Thompson - The Serialphotog, who was on this return trip with me, as was good friend Josh Lowe Photography. In a nutshell, I’ve wore this place out. On this trip though, I had one particular composition in mind that I had been wanting to try for years; a shot of the falls from downstream. In previous visits there were large cut logs scattered throughout the stream making for an ugly foreground. On this day there was nothing but a beautiful stream, wet rocks and a gorgeous waterfall!
