Lower Falls On Glade Creek Glade Creek New River Gorge National River West Virginia I've mentioned before that I'm not a fan of waterfalls with very large splash pools but I'm going to have to admit that the The Lower Falls On Glade Creek in West Virginia's New River Gorge had one of the more beautifully colored pools I've ever seen. While I was standing here I just loved how the rock reaches out into the pool and then there is nothing but color. Makes one wonder how deep is the abyss.
Lower Falls On Glade Creek Glade Creek New River Gorge National River West Virginia I'm not a fan of a large splash pool at the base of a waterfall, but I have to say the Lower Falls On Glade Creek is an exception to my rule. Located in the New River Gorge National River this beautiful waterfall is truly a scenic beauty as there's oodles of angles to view it from and it's surrounded in green from both above and below. Truly a gem of the state and one of my favorites I visited there in Spring of 2014.
Grandview New River Gorge National River After a failed sunrise attempt at the Main Overlook at Grandview in West Virginia's New River Gorge myself and good friend Jeff Burcher left the overlook and made our way over to Turkey Spur with the hopes that maybe the fog had lifted but it had not. I was still in severe need of gas so we began the ride through the park as we passed the park maintenance area I noticed the light was breaking through the fog among the trees so I pulled over and Jeff soon followed. We got out of our cars and I told Jeff, "I'm not sure what I'm looking for but I have a feeling this is going to turn out pretty cool." And boy did it, after setting up the fog lifted even more and beautiful rays of light shown through the mist, it was truly beautiful!
